Hot alloy (superalloy) is widely used in aerospace and energy fields due to its excellent high temperature strength, good oxidation and hot corrosion resistance, good fatigue properties and fracture toughness. However, the machinability of superalloys is very poor, only 5%-20% of 45#, which is a very difficult material to process. Mainly in the tool durability is poor, processing efficiency is low.
Kyocera new chipbreaker for super hot alloy processing.
However, there are more and more applications and needs for high-temperature alloys in the market, and it is very urgent to improve tool durability and improve processing efficiency. In order to meet the needs of the market, this year, Kyocera developed a special chipbreaker for high-temperature alloy high-efficiency roughing---SX chipbreaker. Simply put, Kyocera's newly developed high-temperature alloy roughing special chipbreaker SX is based on solving the following Three aspects of processing: short tool life, unstable life, resulting in low efficiency, increased number of passes; R, S shape blades used in roughing, the back part of the force is large, easy to cause vibration problems. For example, turbochargers, workpiece rigidity is relatively low, production efficiency is low, can not meet the current market demand; S-type blades commonly used in rough machining, excessive cutting residue, affecting the problem of finishing.
The SX chipbreaker has a special tip shape with a depth of cut of 60° and a slanted cutting edge of 12° and is optimized based on simulation techniques to reduce the shape of the rake face of the tip temperature. The appearance of the SX chipbreaker reduces the tip temperature, suppresses the burr generation and reduces the back force, effectively improves the tool life, improves the depth of cut, inhibits the vibrating knife and improves the processing efficiency.
