How to produce a high performance carbide end mill to processing endmill
Mr.A,a carbide end mill wholesaler in ltaly,ordered our aluminum processing carbide end mill at March,standard size 5mm,6mm,8mm,10mm,12mm and 16mm 50pcs each for a sample test.
We produce carbide end mill since 2001, and with all standard size tools in stock,this order be sent to Italy at 28 March.All endmills with 3 cartons in total,shipping by DHL.Mr.A received all tools 6 days later.

We are waiting test result during the next month,and finally received feedback at 30 April.but,the test with bad result, endmills bring burs during machining aluminum,Mr.A sent the pictures to us.

I’ve studied this information with our technicist in first time,because we have tested all our aluminum carbide endmills before shipping,they are perform well with our aluminum work piece.but why bring bad result during customer test,this really confused us.after talked with Mr.A about the cutting parameter and work piece,we found the workpieces which bring burs are aviation aluminum.and their aluminum standard are different with ours,which make the aluminum more soft than ours,high ductility make the aluminum processing more easy bring burs.
After got this information,we’ve designed a special aluminum endmill with large front angle,this endmill more sharper and with better chip removal ability.we've produced samples and take picture to show that large point angle to Mr.A,he also agreed with us.

Characteristics of aluminum alloy:
Soft material and good cutting performance
Low melting point and high ductility
Aluminum chips are easy to stick when processing
Due to the soft material, it is easy to produce a "broaching tool" on the machining surface during processing.
Aluminum alloy (die-cast aluminum) with high Si content is inferior to ordinary aluminum alloy.

Key points for carbide end mill aluminum processing selection:
During processing, the chip evacuation is required to be smooth, so a milling cutter with a large spiral groove is required.
Require cutting edge to be sharp
To prevent aluminum chips from sticking during cutting, select a tool with a small coefficient of friction and a sharp cutting edge.
In the case of aluminum alloys with high Si content, coated cutters with Si elements may not be used.
